During Campus Party Millennium, Granada will unite through technology and universal values of peace and the people of the Mediterranean.
In the Seminar “Technology for Peace” we meet different international initiatives, through the use of new technologies that aim to encourage cooperation and aid economic development in the Mediterranean region to achieve peace.

Society. Us. Technology.
This threefold is what we are going to explore in a series of 3 sessions throughout the CampusParty with the objective to generate a manifesto around the question:
How can we accelerate our impact?
We invite you to co- create a common, open proposal to the society around the social use of technology.
We will be using participative, innovative methods that will ensure dialogue and representation.
Session 1 & 2: Friday, 13:00 & 14:00 (duration: 1hr, 2 rounds)- main space on the right, close to Escenario Ciencia
1. Context Analysis: What are the common elements in our realities?
2. Diagnosis: What are the route causes that shape & form our context?
Session 3 & 4: Saturday, 13:00 & 14:00 (duration: 1hr, 2 rounds)- Main stage
Conceptualization: What is the world that emerges, when we transform the route cause into opportunities?
4. Strategy: How can we make this world a reality? What are the actions that have to be taken?
Session 5: Saturday, 20.00 (duration: 1hr)- Main stage
5. Presentation of Manifesto
6. Individual commitment: What is my first step to make the statements of the manifesto an everyday reality?

MYTecC. A Web 2.0 platform for Peace (UN/UNDP)
MYTecC is a meeting point where young people gather to deepen their knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies and skills that help them succeed in their professional and personal lives. A human network that transcends borders to interact, share ideas and learn about other cultures. It is a unique platform where young minds can develop in harmony and with openness to other cultures and religions. MYTecC Skin is a diverse human network that spans the Mediterranean region y extends through eight countries: Cyprus, Egypt, Israel Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Turkey and Yemen and is open to the inclusion of other countries
Speaker: Najat Rochdi is the regional coordinator of ICT for Development in the Arab countries for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and an expert on innovation in ICT for Arabic countries.

Ya’La Project: The Peres Center for Peace (NGO)
The Peres Center for Peace is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. Founded in 1996 by the President of Israel and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Simon Peres. The non-governmental organization aims to further Peres’ vision in which the people of the Middle East region work together to build peace through socio-economic cooperation and interaction between people. The latest project to be launched is called “Yala – Young Leaders,” a Facebook-based movement aimed at fostering discussions and creating an agenda and vision of peace among young people in the Middle East, focusing on the relationship between Palestinians and Israelis.

From Internet for Peace to Augmented Democracy

Internet for peace is an initiative that was launched by Wired Italy to officially nominate the Internet for a Nobel Peace Prize. Thanks to its disseminations and accessibility, the Internet has shown that we are not only a network of computers worldwide, but we have a powerful communication tool capable of breaking global distances and barriers imposed by political and military constraints. Internet for Peace seeks to show the potential of the Internet to achieve democracy.
Speaker: Riccardo Luna (Italy), Italian journalist and writer, is editor for innovation at La Repubblica.

Grassroots Jerusalem
Muna Hasan is Director of Grassroots Jerusalem, a European Union project that aims to map the grassroots community in Jerusalem and to provide the Palestinian communities in the city with the tools and space to speak and advocate for themselves. Grassroots provides a platform designed to connect and promote local and global resources so that community needs are constructively met in order to enhance the capacity of individuals and organizations which believe in sustainable development and to defend human rights in Jerusalem.
