Future Campus

A look at what's to come

Campus Party Millennium is an opportunity to discover what might be the future of the Mediterranean Basin in terms of new technologies. The Expo and Future areas are open to both participants and visitors who want to come know, in a tangible way, all the issues we’ll be discussing during the days of the event.

Future Campus is an interactive exhibition that shows the latest technological innovations, developments and projects being created both in educational establishments and private companies that are related to diverse subjects such as robotics, the search for new interfaces or promised launch of interactive entertainment.

The inventors and creators of the technologies and prototypes on display are there and available to explain their projects in detail as well as their experiences, knowledge and feedback from visitors as well.

The Expo area is for those institutions, companies and partner agencies who sponsor the event and have space to show new technologies their organizations are working on as well as future projects or the latest “concepts” that have been designed. We also have the opportunity to meet Andalusisn and Mediterranean initiatives related to renewable energy and other projects that provide examples of how ICT can be sustainable.

Demo Robots

NAO ROBOTS

Nao Robotics is a robot that allows an evolution in functions thanks to the open-source operational system. The autonomous, programmable and medium-size robot is developed by the French company Aldebaran Robotics, headquartered in Paris. It has 25 degrees of freedom and an inertial measurement unit and 4 ultrasonic sensors that provide Nao with stability and space positioning. First available for universities and research laboratories, it has now a public distribution and the company is beginning to produce it in a larger scale. In 2007, Nao replaced Sony’s robot dog Aibo as the “Robot Soccer World Cup” Robocup Standard Platform used in the international robots competition.

Demo Robots
ICub

Icub is a humanoid robot developed as a result of the collaborative project RobotCub (http://www.robotcub.org) supported by the European Commission through the IST Unit DE5 Cognitive Robotic Systems. ICub has been designed with the aim of studying human cognition and has a sophisticated set of sensors that provide the vision, touch, perception, hearing, and a large number of actuators (53) that provide motor skills. Pompeu Fabra University focuses on the development and understanding of natural principles of the relationship between mind and body. A new generation of machines that represent a qualitative advance with current robotic systems and succeed in many roles do care for humanity due to its ability to act and interact with humans in their daily activities in your workplace, at home or in society.

Demo Gaming
Rehabilitation Gaming System (RGS)

The Rehabilitation Gaming system (RGS) was developed by the SPECS research group at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. The system is based on virtual reality environments and is focused on motor rehabilitation for superior body extremities. The system combines movement execution with observation of similar actions using virtual arms and hands and is monitored. As an adaptative machine tool, the RGS offers a training system oriented to the development of functional tasks and becomes more complex when the performance of the user is higher. Moreover, the system is able to analyse quantitative and qualitative results about the patient experimentation during the therapy, offering a detailed evaluation of the dynamics of recuperation process.

Demo Simulation
Simulation cabine

This simulator is an accurate replica of the 737-800 Boeing cabin. This system is mainly used for pilot training and courses and offers an unforgettable experience for any aviation fans looking for the sensation of controlling a passenger aircraft.

Demo Augmented reality
"Hyper reality"

Hyper reality is an augmented reality helmet using a 3D scanner and video glasses to immerse people into a digitalized live-version of their surrounding environment, offering them the possibility to control the scale and their own point of view in the space. Embodying the concept theorized by hyperrealism theories, the helmet provides a digital experience, immersing the user in an alternative version of reality seen through the helmet.

Presentation Interactivity
"Interactive Floor"

The Interactive Floor derives your information from Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn then projects it around you when you step on the floor, giving you the opportunity to control what is being shown. The goal of the project is to enhance the networking experience of conference attendees by providing them with a system that allows them to better present themselves, communicate with other people, and stay connected with them on the long run.

Presentation "Tumobiliariosolar"

Tumobiliariosolar.com is a dynamic and young project which aims at designing and creating systems for efficient and sustainable urban furniture. Their first product is a cooling system for water springs supplied with photovoltaic solar energy.
Tumobiliariosolar.com includes in the urban furniture the last high-tech advances of the renewable energies sector, making green and autosufficient our environment.

Presentation
Cilab

CILAB is a laboratory for R&I&D specialized in sustainability projects. The center of their projects is the GAM platform (Asset Management-Green Environmental Assets Management), focused on optimizing the use of natural resources. You can participate in a technology demonstration platform application in public lighting and can be a representation of other applications with different assets in what would be a Smart City connected with our devices in their stand.
